On arrival at Durban international airport you will be collected by us and transported to St. Bernards Peak Mountain Lodge situated in the Southern Drakensberg Mountains. A traditional South African braai (barbeque) and champagne will be served on your arrival.

Your hosts willl brief you about your upcoming Lesotho trip, give you some knowledge of the area and answer any questions you may have.  Our Lesotho experience is unique, we have ridden in Lesotho for 23 years and know many of the local Basotho folk.. Lesotho’s remote and rugged countryside is spectacular and gives the visitor that primal thrill of discovering the unknown. This trail will give you the most awesome feeling of being out in wide open spaces and riding without boundaries.

We will ride through the Sehlabathebe National Park, descend down to Bushmans Nek Borderpost into South Africa and spend the night at Silverstreams self catering accommodation. Sehlabathebe National park is part of the Maloti-Drakensberg World Heritage Site and was established in 1969. The park is 6 500 hectares at an average elevation of 2 400 meters. This Lesotho horseback experience is unique.  Experience a country which must have given birth to the very spirit of adventure and excitement.

Day 1

We take you to meet the horses and we allocate a horse to suit you. We will groom the
horses, saddle up, mount and be ready to hit the trail at 08:30. Sehlabathebe is situated in rural
Lesotho enabling you to experience the real Lesotho. This is an amazing ride and if we are lucky we
will see Eland (antelope), Baboons, Mountain Reedbuck and Jackal on this Trail. Along this route you
will encounter some of the most spectacular scenery you have seen. There is a reason why this is
called The Mountain Kingdom. This is approx an 8 hour ride into the Southern Drakensberg mountains.

Day 2

Today we will explore the Bushmans Nek area on horseback. Ride out to Twin Pools where
we will have a picnic lunch and enjoy the beauty of the area. For those that wish to swim, the clear
mountain pools are there to be enjoyed.

Day 3

We hit the trail today at 09:00 and climb back up the Mountain into Lesotho. Our ride takes
us into rural Lesotho today where we will stay overnight at The Project, situated in a beautiful
Lesotho village. Our accommodation for the night is rustic but comfortable. Todays ride is approx 6
hours.

Day 4

Our return trip to St. Bernards Peak today and if you were blown away by the scenery of the
first few days then hold onto your saddle as it just gets better. This is an approximate 6 hour ride.

Day 5

Today is a rest day for horses and riders. There is so much to see at St. Bernards Peak
Mountain Lodge. For those that wish to explore, we will take you to visit a cave with Bushmens
paintings and swim in crystal clear waters. For those wishing to relax, you can chill by the pool.

Day 6

We spend today riding exploring the St. Bernards Peak area on horseback with our host at
St. Bernards Ian. This is a beautiful ride. It's likely we'll encounter different buck (antelope) species and
Zebra.

Day 7

Transport back to Durban International Airport or to a place of your choice as long as it is
prearranged with yourself and your hosts.
